Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco Alula) won the thirteenth stage of the 2026 Tour de France, crossing the line in 4h06'58" after a long and hard-fought stage that brought the race to Belfort. The Swiss rider beat Harold Alfonso Tejada Canacue (XDS Astana Team) in a tight sprint, with the latter finishing second by the same time, while Tom Pidcock (Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) placed third, two seconds back. Maxim Van Gils (Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe) took fourth and Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates XRG) fifth, both with the same deficit as Pidcock. The stage, the longest of the 2026 edition, saw a large breakaway of over thirty riders form in the early phases. Among them was Pidcock, who could count on significant teamwork from his teammates Fred Wright, Xandro Meurisse, and Quinten Hermans. The breakaway group built a lead of over eight minutes, rendering the chase efforts of Bahrain Victorious — intent on defending Lenny Martinez's position in the general classification — futile.Pidcock thus gained 7'30" on the yellow jersey group, moving from tenth to fourth place overall, just 4'15" behind the race leader and nine seconds off the virtual podium.Updated General ClassificationTadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) firmly holds the yellow jersey with a time of 47h18'31", leading Jonas Vingegaard Hansen (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) by 3'36" and Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe) by 4'06".The 2026 Tour de France continues with the following stages toward Paris, with the general classification still firmly in the hands of Pogačar.
